Leo Loves MailRoute!

Many of you probably know Leo Laporte. He was the host of The Screen Savers on TechTV from 1998 to 2004. Nowadays he is busy in both television and radio:

TV: Leo hosts Call for Help on G4techTV Canada. Tune in weeknights at 6p Eastern and Pacific.

Radio: Leo talks tech on KFI AM 640 in Los Angeles every Saturday and Sunday from Noon-3p Pacific. Listen live anywhere in Southern California or via the Internet on KFI's web site.

He also does tech news commentaries every Tuesday at 6:45a Pacific on KGO 810 AM in San Francisco, Fridays at 8:35a Pacific with Bill Handel on KFI AM 640 in Los Angeles, and every Saturday at 7:40a Eastern with John Donabie on 1010 CFRB Toronto.

How did Leo meet MailRoute?

Our founder met Leo this summer at Wonder Valley Family Camp.. Yes, family camp.

The sordid and geeky details of their meeting were described by Leo on his KFI radio show the day after he got home.

In between rock climbing and canoe trips, and right after the Elvis impersonator lounge show, Leo became a MailRoute customer and has become an ardent fan, mentioning MailRoute on his show several times.

Here are some MP3 files of the mentions:

Listen KFI - August 22, 2004 - How Leo and Tom met (This is pretty funny)
    Listen KFI - September 19, 2004 - Leo's spam problem is history!

"Since I started using MailRoute for my business, the junk mail in my inbox has dropped by 96% - with zero false-positives.

This is the best way I've ever seen to can spam."

"MailRoute stopped spam cold. We were averaging nearly 100 spam mails per user per day plus assorted email viruses.

Now some of us go days without seeing any spam at all."

"After purchasing server software for spam filtering, we ran into problems reloading the software and reconfiguring our hardware. I quickly had to find a service-based spam filter.

I was able to activate the MailRoute service in less than 15 minutes.

The impact was immediate. The volume of spam dropped from 90 unwanted emails a day per employee to less than 10.

And best of all, my network is no longer storing that email."

"Last month, MailRoute filtered over 3.3 million of our messages for spam and viruses. As a result, my company realizes a savings in mail administration and technical support.

My support personnel now take on additional responsibilities and projects instead of fighting fires related to spam and viruses."
